This private 11-day journey follows the Nile Valley from Cairo to Aswan by road, taking you beyond the usual itinerary. Travelling in a comfortable vehicle gives you a closer sense of the towns, villages and landscapes along the way. Alongside celebrated highlights, discover rarely visited sites including the Meidum Pyramid, the tombs of Beni Hassan, Tell el-Amarna and the temples of Abydos and Dendera. Day 1Welcome to Egypt

On arrival at Cairo Airport, you are welcomed and transferred to your five-star hotel. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and relax. Included meals: lunch and dinner.

Day 2The Evolution of Pyramid Building

Visit Djoser’s Step Pyramid at Saqqara, followed by the Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid at Dahshur. Together, these monuments reveal the evolution of pyramid construction from its earliest experiments to the great royal tombs. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 3Old Cairo, the Museum and Fayoum

In Old Cairo, visit the Hanging Church and the Amr Ibn al-As Mosque, followed by the Egyptian Museum. Continue to Fayoum Oasis to see the Meidum Pyramid. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 4Minya, Tuna el-Gebel and Beni Hassan

Travel onwards to Minya to explore the necropolis of Tuna el-Gebel and the richly painted tombs of Beni Hassan, whose scenes offer a vivid glimpse of daily life in the Middle Kingdom. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 5Tell el-Amarna, Abydos and Dendera

Visit Tell el-Amarna, the former capital of Pharaoh Akhenaten, then continue to the Temple of Seti I at Abydos and the beautifully preserved Temple of Hathor at Dendera. Overnight in Luxor. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 6Luxor’s West Bank

An optional hot-air balloon flight is available at sunrise. Afterwards, visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 7Luxor’s East Bank

Explore the vast Karnak Temple complex and Luxor Temple, once linked by the Avenue of Sphinxes. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 8Edfu and Kom Ombo

On the way to Aswan, visit the exceptionally preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu and the double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 9Highlights of Aswan

Visit the Aswan High Dam and travel by boat to Philae Temple on Agilkia Island. Later, discover the traditions of southern Egypt during a visit to a Nubian village. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 10Free Time in Aswan or Abu Simbel

The day is yours to enjoy. You may choose an optional excursion to the monumental rock temples of Abu Simbel or explore Aswan at your own pace. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 11Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Aswan Airport. Included meal: breakfast.
