Day 1Journey to Siwa and Shali Fortress+
You are collected from your accommodation or the airport and travel to Siwa Oasis. After checking in, enjoy a traditional lunch before exploring historic Shali Fortress, built from the local salt-and-mud material known as kershef. Dinner is served at a local restaurant. Included meals: lunch and dinner.
Day 2Mountain of the Dead, the Oracle Temple and Cleopatra’s Spring+
After breakfast, visit the Mountain of the Dead and its ancient tombs. Continue to the Oracle Temple, famously associated with Alexander the Great. Following lunch, relax beside the natural waters of Cleopatra’s Spring and stay to watch the sunset. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 3Fatnas Island and the Salt Lakes+
Begin the day at palm-fringed Fatnas Island. After lunch, travel to Siwa’s celebrated salt lakes, where the high salt content lets you float almost weightlessly in remarkably clear turquoise water. End the day watching the desert sunset. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 4Safari in the Great Sand Sea+
Set out by 4×4 across the dunes of the Great Sand Sea, with the opportunity to try sandboarding along the way. Swim in a cool desert lake, enjoy a picnic and then unwind in the naturally warm waters of Bir Wahid. Included meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 5Farewell to Siwa+
After a final traditional breakfast, there is time to browse local handicrafts and Siwa dates before beginning the return journey to your agreed destination. Included meal: breakfast.
