Day 2The Pyramids, the Sphinx and Historic Cairo+
Accompanied by your guide, you visit the world-famous Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx, gaining a deeper understanding of their history, construction and enduring significance.
You then explore the remarkable collection of the Egyptian Museum before continuing into Cairo’s historic Islamic and Coptic districts and the lively Khan el-Khalili bazaar. At the end of the day, you return to your accommodation in Cairo.
Day 3Fly to Aswan and Begin Your Nile Cruise+
After breakfast, you are collected from your accommodation and transferred to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan, where a member of the ElDeak Tours team will be waiting to welcome you.
Your sightseeing begins at the Aswan High Dam, one of the region’s defining modern landmarks. From there, a motorboat takes you to Agilkia Island to visit the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis.
You then board your Nile cruise ship, enjoy dinner on board and spend the night in Aswan.
Day 4Aswan and Kom Ombo+
This morning, you may choose an optional excursion to Abu Simbel or a Nubian village. Either experience can be added to your itinerary on request.
Later, you visit the unusual double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Horus.
After returning to the ship, dinner is served as you continue sailing towards Edfu. Tonight is spent on board.
Day 5Edfu, Karnak and Luxor+
After breakfast, a traditional horse-drawn carriage takes you to the remarkably well-preserved Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus.
Back on board, enjoy lunch as the ship continues towards Luxor.
On arrival, you explore the vast Karnak Temple complex, one of the largest religious sites in the world, followed by Luxor Temple with its monumental columns, statues and distinctive obelisk. Dinner and overnight are on board in Luxor.
Day 6Luxors West Bank+
If you wish, begin the day with an optional hot-air balloon flight over Luxor, taking in sweeping views of the temples, farmland and Nile.
After breakfast, you set out to explore Luxor’s West Bank. In the Valley of the Kings, you enter three selected royal tombs before visiting the striking mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the ancient workers‘ village of Deir el-Medina and the Colossi of Memnon.
To round off your time in Luxor, Ahmed welcomes you into his family home for a personal, home-cooked lunch — a chance to experience Egyptian hospitality away from the usual visitor trail. Depending on your onward travel arrangements, you are then transferred to Luxor Airport.
